Re: News: NA Division Update

It's about damn time IMHO. I do give props to Slash/Death for running a good league in the past. I'm pretty sure this needed to be done for about 3 months(maybe more) now though. I will miss cheating every Sunday night. <3

A league where VAC bans, cheating, and exploits are not only allowed, but encouraged-- no thanks.

Before anyone asks- I do not have any time nor interest in running the NA division and no, you cannot be the new admin.

Re: News: NA Division Update

Hacks in bg are either useless or obvious.

Aimbot - useless.
wallhack - obvious and useless.
speedhack - obvious and useless.

Also there are no hacks for BG2 except a material wall hack, the sourcemod speedhack and generic speedhacks.

Re: News: NA Division Update

Well, the only BG2 specific one was the material wall hack which probably doesn't work with 2.0.

The sourcemod one is an exploit, which actually raises a very interesting point, why should some exploits result in a ban and others in a suspension?  I see a lot of speed hack bans in the ban list, I wasn't around then but I am guessing the majority of them were not speed hacking in BGL matches.  However I do know that players who have exploited in BGL matches are not banned (door blocking).

So why are non-bgl exploiters banned but bgl ones not?

Also I have cheated playing monopoly on many occasions, by the same logic I should be banned from the BGL.

Re: News: NA Division Update

My 20 pence worth:

Slash is totally correct. In fact, I don't understand why he deems it necessary to explain himself.

It's standard in every competitive league (both in real life and on the net), cheating results with suspension.

To Ad-man - On the battlegroundsleague.com rules page there is a quite obvious distinction between cheating and exploitation. I'm uncertain as to whether your brought this to the admins attention at the time, but having played in the NA division for a considerable amount of time, I'm sure Slash would have made some action, providing you had the proper evidence.

I guess if you provide proof that you have cheating in Monopoly....

....

....

Jesus Christ, are you serious?

At the end of the day, you only have yourselves to blame. Certain people from the NA division have ruined this league for players that just wanted to concentrate on playing and not childish bickering. Never thought I would have seen the day when the Battlegrounds League was comparable to Counter Strike in terms of dickhead:nice people ratio in the community.

Re: News: NA Division Update

Also, the speedhacks on the ban page were known hackers from other games I used to test out the ban page initially. As far as I know, those people didn't speedhack in BG, but the speedhacks were hack dll's, not gameplay exploits. Since known bans (VAC) are public- and the BGL site checks to make sure new player's aren't banned- it's somewhat redundant to have them on the list at this point, but that's another matter.
